Just "popping up"...

Yes, I know I have been absent for awhile.  But life has really gotten in the way, and with the holidays coming so soon upon us...I have been a bit preoccupied with that.  However today I got the chance to do some stamping, and this is what I created....

I have discovered "Lawn Fawn" stamps, and have found their images to be adorable!  Don't you agree??

When I create cards, I have usually stamped the image on a solid colored cardstock, or on white...and then colored the image in with Copic markers.  But today, being the daring gal I am...I decided to stamp the image directly on patterned paper (the toaster) to jazz things up a bit.

Hope you enjoy it!

Tee-Riffic!

Our son just had a birthday, and one of his favorite things to do is play golf.
(we do live in Arizona, ya know....)

So I decided to create a Thank you card, that highlights something he loves.
And this is what I created....

A Muse Studio has a "grass" die, that I use for many of my projects,
and it worked beautifully in this one.  It was perfect for my golf cart.
Paper Smooches provided all the other images...
the golf cart, the saying, and the cute bubble....
and the 3D foam adhesive was a great way to
make the comment "pop"!
Fun huh??

Thanks for visiting!

Something different...

I decided to try something different.  I made a card using an image created  from a die as my focal point.

In this card I punched out the image and adhered it to the apricot cardstock with 3D foam adhesive.  The cardstock was stamped with the sheet music background stamp. (using a masking technique)
The effect is simple, yet very striking.

The ocean cardstock that I used to make the cake, I also used to make the banner at the bottom.
Me likey!

Thanks for visiting!

Congratulations!

When great things happen to great people, they need to be celebrated!
My sister-in-law just got a new job,
and we wanted her to know how excited we are for her.
So...I created this card.

This Paper Smooches stamp set, is just adorable.
For the clouds I stamped the cloud image on the gingham cardstock
and cut it out and attached it to the card.
Coloring with copics added the color to the helicopter and
a spika glitter pen, added sparkle to the blades.

Have a wonderful creative day!

Just another...

....Birthday!
A buddy of my son is turning thirteen, so I created this card for him.
3D foam squares add a nice touch.
It makes the cupcake just "pop" off the card.
Are you using twine in your card designs?
I purchased quite a few colors, and love the effect.
Hope you do too!

Have a great day!

Vespa Girl!

There is nothing like getting a card from a friend.
I know I may be old-fashioned, but I love getting a card in the mail.
Bills are dreaded.  But cards....well, they are simply wonderful.

We had some friends do something wonderful for us recently,
and I thought it would be a good idea to send them a card to tell them
how much we appreciated their thoughtfulness.
Yeah, life can get a bit crazy...but we should never be too busy to say thank you.

So this is what I created....

It is simple and clean.

But lets them know that they are appreciated.

.....and have a great week!

Birthday Giggles

Today my daughter turns SIXTEEN!
I just can't believe it.  Seems like yesterday that she was my baby.....
I wanted to create something cute for her, and this stamp set
just seemed to fit the occasion.
The card needed a bit of sparkle...
so I added some stickles to the petals of the flower.
It just screams happy....
...and that is what I want her birthday to be.

Have a happy, creative day...

Sweet Tooth

Do you have a sweet tooth?
Well have to admit that sweets are my weakness.
My girlfriend loves sweets too, thus I thought it would be very appropriate to make
this card for her for her birthday.

It is hard to see from this photo, but the candy pieces as well as the whipped cream on the sundae, I used a spika glitter pencil to add a slight bit of sparkle.  It added a great affect.

The card is simple...and sweet!  Just like her!

Have a sweet day!

Growing Giggles

Giggles....yep, I think everyone needs to giggle.

Unfortunately we don't do it enough.
I created this card for a dear friend who is a bit blue, and needed some cheering up.
Paper Smooches clear stamps are adorable, and I absolutely love them for this project.
The images are so funny and silly.......
......they just make me happy!

And I have to say...giggle...

Don't forget to giggle a bit today.
Life is too short.

Best Fishes!

I have always thought that it was a
good idea to have cards ready to roll that
can be used for multiple occasions.

The card I created here, suits this purpose
beautifully....

You can send this card to a friend for their birthday...
...or to a couple for their Anniversary
...or to congratulate a friend on receiving a  promotion or award
...or to celebrate adding a new pet fish to the family!

No matter what the occasion, this card works.

Hope you like it, and have a wonderful day!

That Bytes!

Making a card for a guy is hard.
I don't care what anyone says, they are.
This is why I purchased the "Brief Notes" stamp set from A Muse Studio.
It has so many great images that can be used to create
that perfect card for the man in your life.
My guy just happens to be a computer geek.
So I thought this card was quite appropriate.....

Hope you like it!  Have a great day!

Change is good....

Life gets busy sometimes. And because of this, I have decided to leave A Muse Studio as a consultant. It has been fun, but I decided that it just didn't work with my life right now.
Because I have decided to leave A|S, I thought I needed to change the name of my blog. And the design has changed too!  I have always been a bit sentimental. But I love to make simple designs. Thus the new name....Simple and Sentimental.
Change is good.  And I look forward to seeing you here soon!

Goin' to camp

My daugher is a member of her high school marching band.
This week they are off to band camp.  She always requests that I write
her while she is away.  So this year I decided to surprise her,
and make her a card to let her know how much we love her.

And this is what I designed....

The A Muse Studio stamp set "Hello from Camp" really fit the bill on this one.
My girl loves s'mores (I mean who doesn't?)
So I thought it would really make her smile.

Keep Swimmin'

I love fish.  I just do.

In the summertime, they are a great image to put on a card.
I found this card in our current A Muse Studio catalog,
and just had to make it.
Yes, I added my own touch of putting Stickles on the fins....
but hey, that is what creating cards is all about.
Putting your own touches to a card to make it special.

Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary!

I found this lovely stamp set from Ellen Hutson, and just had to make an Anniversary card.

I used my copic markers to blend the orange and yellow into the flower petals.
They are wonderful for blending, and the A Muse Studio has a wonderful selection to choose from.
And to add that little bit of sparkle, I highlighted each petal with a spika glitter pen.

Have a wonderful creative day...

With Sympathy

Sympathy cards have always been difficult.  But I have found that keeping the designs simple and elegant is the most comforting and appropriate at this difficult time.  I created this card for just this purpose.

I did encounter a problem though.  When I stamped my sentiment, some of the ink attached itself to the edge of the stamp and left a mark.

So what to do?  I decided to add additional streaks of black throughout the card front to make the mistake become a part of the card.  So if this happens to you....don't stress out.  Cards shouldn't be perfect.  Imperfections only add to the card, and make it more special.

Have a wonderful creative day!
