Just Sailin'

Here is another card using one of the June Spotlight Studio stamp sets. This set is entitled "Life's a Breeze"

I used three different elements to make the card stand out. I stamped the boat on a different sheet of paper and cut it out, and used 3D foam adhesive to make it 'pop' out of the card. Next stickles sparkle glitter was used to highlight the waves. Finally the last touch was washi tape. I love the stuff I tell ya....

Living in Arizona, and having 105 degree heat right now, well actually it is supposed to hit 110 today.....{sigh}....makes me long to be at the beach. Thus, when I look at these beautiful photos of sand dollars, fish, and that gorgeous paper.... it makes me feel just a little bit cooler.

And...of course, it inspires me to create cards that have that beach-y feel. I am still keeping with my simple style, as you can see, but I thought that adding that single pearl sticker just adds that little bit of elegance.

Father's Day

It has been crazy busy around here.

So I haven't had too much time to post. Sorry about that. But it just occurred to me this week that Father's Day is next weekend! Eeeek!

I had to create a card for my father-in-law. I just received my new stamp set "Just my Type" this past week and thought it would be a great stamp set to use to create my card for him. I didn't have a stamp that said "Happy Father's Day" in the typeface, therefore I decided to add it to the card by typing out my sentiment on the computer. It was a easy solution to my dilemma and really gave the card the feel I was looking for. Copics were used for shading on the typewriter (remember using those things?) Yep I certainly do....

...and a touch of Divine Twine gave the card a nice finishing touch.
